little things

Take the time to slow down and enjoy what is around you.

Listed below are some of my “little” not-so-little things :-)

THE Soup Shack

Into the fall and winter months, Zakhary decided to branch out and “open” the soup shack alongside the greasy soup.

He did not disappoint.

This is where we got chef and Sue from. Yes, I spelled that right. Not sous chef but Sue chef.

Zen

Where do I even start with this one?

Just look at her. It’s self-explanatory.

Truthfully, before Zakhary and I got her, I was never one to really like cats. But, I’ve never met a sweeter animal than her and now I’m a sucker.

Disclaimer : Do not be fooled, she gets the case of the zoomies at least three times a day.

Game Night

I’ll be honest, I’ve lost way too many times to Zakhary in monopoly. Something is sus about him always wanting to be the banker…

That was our game of choice when we traveled to Colorado in October last year.

And we, of course, had to break out the “care-a-ker-chur” board and reigns.

The Quarter Senders

+ Kaitlyn, Kassidy, and Irish Dave

“The Quarter Senders” is the name of our group chat. The idea originated from the saying “full send” but we came to the conclusion that none of us are full senders so that’s where the quarter comes in.

This photo was taken at a Chris Stapleton concert last year and Guy (Zakhary’s dad) wanted to send it to neighbor Dennis. Guy says that if he doesn’t give you a hard time then he doesn’t like you soooo he likes Dennis. I think?

Cuddles

One of my favorite moments I’ve captured. My little family <3

+ Ziggy (our leopard gecko)

I think cuddling suppresses depression, relieves anxiety, and strengthens the immune system.

It’s pretty great, you should try it.

Notes from Kasserole

aka Kassandra

For a few months, I was on a baking kick. Ahh who am I kidding, I still am. I’m always down to make a dessert, thanks to my sweet tooth.

My go-to was pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and pistachio white chocolate chip cookies which kind of became my specialty. Kass was a good taste tester and left the best reviews.

What can I say, Sue is wearing the apron.

slow living + simple pleasures

Put into practice.

This means taking the time to appreciate small, mundane moments that you maybe before would have taken for granted, it means being conscious of where you’re spending your time, rather than letting life pass you by, it means evaluating personally what is important to you, what you want your energy to be used for, and it means finding happiness in simple pleasures.

It’s easy to get caught up in daily life, amidst the busyness. During the moments when life seems to be moving at one hundred miles per hour. Pause. Take it all in, right where you are now.

How to Feel Better :

  • Get outside

  • Clean your surrounding

  • Mind dump

  • Hydrate

  • Take a power nap

  • Put your favorite song on

  • Practice gratitude

  • Focus on your breath

Find the joy in little things and life will always be fulfilling.
